Temporary, Part-Time
Monday-Wednesday 5:30pm-8:30pm
The English as a Foreign Language Teacher is the main facilitator in foreign language acquisition at CILS. The EFL Teacher utilizes a range of course materials supportive to curriculum standards, implements differentiated methods of teaching to promote English language communication with non-native speakers at various proficiency levels. The EFL Teacher also collaborates with learners to develop strategies in support of their pursuit towards students’ professional goals as well as the overall student learning experience.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited College/University.
TEFL/CELTA/TESOL certification
Experience with curriculum development and implementation
Experience with classroom management strategies
Specific knowledge of language teaching methodologies
Cultural awareness and openness to different customs
Technological proficiencies (Internet, Classe365, LMS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Workspace, etc.)
Minimul Eligibility Requirements
Must be a regular attender of church service
Two (2) years’ experience teaching adult learners
An additional (1) year teaching on the post-secondary level is preferred
Ability to adapt to new teaching methods and technologies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
High level of professionalism and attention to detail
Critical problem-solving skills to promote expedited resolutions
